As of Jun 1915, Harry (farm laborer, age 32) and Bertha Reed (age 34) lived on Church Street in the village of Hagaman, Town of Amsterdam, New York with their son, Edward (age 1). The John E. Reed family (Harry’s parents) and the John M. (Achsah Reed, Harry’s sister) Thatcher family also lived at this same address, all male members of the families being farmers or farm laborers.

As of Jun 1925, Edward (age 12) lived on the family farm on what was then called Cranes Hollow Road (now McQuade Road) with his father, Harry, his mother, Bertha, his brother, Howard (age 8), and his sisters Eunice (age 10) and Blanche (age 6). Also living on the farm were two hired workers: Edith Belfance (age 18) who did housework and Frank Dense (age 47) who was a farm laborer.
161940:
As of 11 May 1940, Edward was 26 years old, single and was still living on his family farm in the town of Amsterdam, RFD#5. Others living at the same address were his father, Harry (age 56), his brother, Howard (age 22) and his sister Eunice (age 24). His sister, Blanche, had passed away several months earlier in October 1939. Ed was working 60 hours a week as a gas station attendant with an annual income of $1000.00.
171950:
As of 18 Apr 1950, Edward and Helen Reed were married and lived with their daughter, Karan, in a home located in North Broadalbin, New York. Edward was age 35, Helen was age 29 and Karan was one. Helen was a homemaker and Edward operated a gas station, possibly the McGowan brothers gas station just outside Broadalbin on the road to North Broadalbin.

1960:"Edward died suddenly Monday afternoon August 9th 1960-Funeral Thursday afternoon 2 o'clock"
3 Ed had recently had a heart attack and had been hospitalized. He was on his way home from the hospital, stopping at McGowen Bros. service station to get gas and visit, when he had another attack and died.
