171 The county line between Fulton and Saratoga and the township line between Broadalbin and Providence at this point is the Kenneyetto Creek. The old Delamater homestead stood on the Broadalbin Township, Fulton County side of the creek.
172When a boy, Howard F. Reed caught trout in the Kenneyetto Creek at the foot of the hill where the old Delamater house in Fulton Cnty, NY once stood, very near the old bridge where the Hagadorn Mills/Trevet Rd. crosses the creek. He recalled his mother, Bertha Rankie, talking about a “Grandfather Tunis.” As told to Howard F. Reed by his mother Bertha, the Delamater house stood on top of the hill above the Kenneyetto (Broadalbin side of the creek, right side of the road travelling from Broadalbin toward Hagadorn Mills). Currently (1996), this is a trailer court called White Birches. Howard F. Reed remembered an old foundation at this location when he was a child. He recalled all open, sandy fields at that time. He also recalled that the area was called "Delamater Hill" by the "old timers".
7 This recollection was verified by a conversation he had with a Mrs. Lasher who was 88 as of 30 Apr 1997 and who lived her married life in the area and also by a conversation with an elderly male resident (name not written down, Howard F. Reed couldn't remember it) of the White Birches Trailer Court on the same day. This elderly man also recalled that the bridge described above was called the "Delamater Bridge. Howard F. Reed recalled that a pipeline from the Amsterdam Water Works crosses this Delamater property and that his father (Harry Reed) was hired to haul pipe for this project to this location."
7 The existance of this pipeline is verified by deed dated 7 Jan 1890.
