Carmita first married Fahey Smith and second, Bradley Folensbee.

Carmita was a member of the Cranesville Reformed Church, Cranesville, Montgomery Cnty, New York where she was a church secretary for many years, the church organist, a member of the church choir, and taught Sunday Club. She was also a charter member of the Country Cousins Seniors, a charter member of the Rugmakers Riding Club, a member of the Montgomery County 4H and a member of the Cranesville Reformed Church Players.
