Minnie immigrated to the United States in 1860, at age 10 from Berlin, Germany with her father and stepmother: Dr. and Mrs. Lewis Rankie.94,122,125

According to the 1860 Census, Louis Ranke, age 38, lived in the West Galway Post Office district, Perth, NY. According to the census he was born in Germany and his occupation at that time was as a laborer. His household included Mary Ranke, age 23, who was born in Germany and Minnie Ranke, age 10, who was also born in Germany.101 Frederick Ranke, age 12, (Lewis’ son) resided with the Isaac Hartley family, West Galway Post Office, Perth, NY.93

1868:
Minnie Margaret and Agustus Eikenberg were married.3,122

1870:
According to the Census, Minnie and Agustus were living with in-laws in West Galway, New York:121 Living at this West Galway Post Office, Town of Broadalbin, New York address were:
Hanna Eickenberg, age 49, (born in Prussia, keeps house); Agustus Eickenberg, age 25 (born in Prussia, farmer); Margaret Eickenberg, age 20 (born in Prussia, keeps house); and Emma Eickenberg, 6/12 (born in New York).

Sometime between 1877 and 1884, Augustus Eikenburg, his wife Minnie and their family ended their membership at the First Presbyterian Church of West Galway and became members of the Calvary Reformed Church of Hagaman.

1877:
6 Oct 1877: Lydia Bertha was baptized at the First Presbyterian Church of West Galway.126
6 Oct 1877: Agustus Eickenberg and Minnie his wife were dismissed from the First Presbyterian Church of West Galway.126

1880:
As of 5 Jun 1880 The Eikenbergs were members of the Calvary Reformed Church, Hagaman, NY from the Presbyterian Church, West Galway, NY127

1884:
28-29 Mar 1884: “Mr. Augustus Eikenberg and Minnie his wife were received by letter from the Presbyterian Church of West Galway.”128 108
28-29 Mar 1884: “The following were received as members of the Church on confession of their faith Charles E. Rankey Lillie Agusta Eikenberg”128 108

1920:
According to the Census94, the widowed Minnie Eikenburg was residing in Hagaman, New York (in a rental) with two daughters and a son-in-law:
Minnie M. Eikenburg, age 69 (born in Berlin, Stadt (City), Germany); Lilian A. Patterson, age 48; Frank Patterson, age 24; and Mable E. Larson, age 29.

1936:
"Gramma Eikenburg" lived at 4 Main Street, Hagaman, NY122 according to Howard F. Reed. The first time that he heard a radio was at her house during a visit with his mother. They used a "crystal set"7

Minnie was a member of the Hagaman Reformed Church and the Ladies’ Aid Society, both in Hagaman, NY.122

Minnie died at 8:15pm, Sunday, 31 May 1936 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Haithwaite, 27 Finlay Street, Amsterdam, New York. She had been ill since Dec 1935, but her death was unexpected.122 According to her death certificate (information given by her grandson, Frank A. Patterson), Minnie died from Endocarditis.123 Her funeral was held 2:00pm on Thursday, 4 Jun 1936 at her home in Hagaman with the Rev. R. C. VanZoeren officiating. She was buried in the Hagaman Cemetery.129

Carmita Folensbee remembers Minnie’s name as Maggie.100 and Maggie M. is the name on her headstone.
