1081888-1889:During 1888 and 1889, Louis Reinke or Louis Rankey lived on “Church in Mills, NY” and was a physician.
187,125On 17 Feb 1889, the following was recorded in the records of the Calvary Reformed Church, Hagaman, Montgomery Cnty, New York::
“At an informal meeting of the Elders (J. ?. Stairs, Wm Palmateer, Isaac C. Sowle) the pastor stated that Doctor Rinke, a member of this church [Calvary Reformed Church of Hagaman, NY] applied to him, on the occasion of his last visit to the sick man last Friday, for the administration of the communion of the Lord’s Supper, before his anticipated departure, at a convenient time, in the near future, while he still had the full use of his mind. The Pastor also stated that on the day before (Saturday), he had called on Elder John Lutton, himself slowly recovering from a serious illness, and that after stating Dr Rinke’s case and request, Elder Lutton had expressed his approval of the sacrament being administered to Dr. Rinke. After some discussion, it was resolved that Dr. Rinke’s request be granted and that, D.V., the communion be administered to him, on Sabbath, Feb. 24, inst. at 3 P.M., the Elders, and also Mrs Rinke to participate in the communion service and the elements; and the pastor announced his intention to inform Dr Rinke tomorrow of the above action. -?.
