"Jeremiah was in the civil service at Little Compton from 25 November 1718 until 26 August 1755. In October 1750 he was appointed one of the four Justices of the Peace for Little Compton. He served in that position until his death. At the time of the French and Indian War Jeremiah was appointed a member of the War Commission, serving from 1754 to 1756."
