She was born and spent much of her childhood on a farm on Old Route 29.835
She attended country schools.832

1918:
Eliza moved to the village of Broadalbin when her father bought a coal and feed store.835

1929:
Eliza graduated from Broadalbin High School.832

1930:
Eliza attended the Broadalbin Teachers College and was able to teach in the one-room school in Union Mills.832

1950:
Eliza’s husband, Frank, died in a fire at his home, Ext. Elm St., Broadalbin, while sleeping.7,769 He had been ill for the previous three days and had apparently been smoking in bed. His body was discovered by his wife, Eliza, when she came home from work. She was a Grades 1 and 2 teacher at the Perth Central School at the time and classes had been dismissed early because of drifting road conditions.829 Ironically, Frank and Eliza Reed’s son, John (Jack) died in a house fire at the same location on 20 Apr 1974.839

1957:
Eliza graduated from Oneonta Teachers College.832

1962:
Eliza married Fred Ammeroll on 1 Sep 1962. She lived in Broadalbin, New York at the time.837

1971:
Eliza retired from Perth Central School, Perth, NY.832

1974:
Frank and Eliza Reed’s son, John (Jack) died in a house fire at the same location as his father on 20 Apr 1974.839

2006:
Eliza celebrated her 100th birthday with a large gathering of family and friends at Michael’s Restaurant in Amsterdam, NY on Saturday, April 22, 2006.836 She was alert, remembered everyone and carried on conversations. However, she did stay in her seat and said it was noisy! At this time, she still lives by herself in her own home, although her grandson, Bradley Reed lives next door.2

2007:
Eliza resided at Rt. 30, Amsterdam (Perth), NY from her marriage to Fred Ammerall until nine months prior to her death.832,2
