Notes for Benjamin GILBERT
1726/7:
“Benjamin and Elizabeth Gilbert were admitted to full communion with the church at Greenfield Hill, Feb. 26, 1726/7. They had probably lived within the limits of the Greenfield Hill parish since their marriage, and he possibly from an earlier date.”1157

1740:
“In 1740 he conveyed ‘for love and affection to my well-beloved son Moses Gilbert of Fairfield’ part of ‘ye long lot which originally belonged to my honoured father Obadiah Gilbert of Fairfield, deceased.’ “1157

1746:
“In 1746 he and his wife Elizabeth conveyed land which had formerly belonged to her father, Abraham Adams.”1157

1747:
“On May 3, 1747, Lieut. Benjamin Gilbert and his wife were admitted members of the church at Wilton in Norwalk, ‘recommended from the church at Greenfield.’”1157
