1695:
“Obadiah Gilbert, Jr. baptized and owned covenant at First Congregational Church, Fairfield, May 19, 1695”1164

1724:
He and his wife became members of the same church (First Congregational Church Fairfield) on 28 June 1724.1164

1726:
On 18 May 1726, he became a founder and member of the church at Greenfield Hill, Fairfield. His wife became a member one month later.1164

He conveyed land in 1726 to his son, Benjamin Gilbert.1164

He had also given land to his son, John.1164

1727:
Obadiah Gilbert left no will. “On July 10, 1727, the widow Abigail Gilbert and her two sons were appointed administrators of his estate. On Sept. 5, 1727, a final distribution was made to the widow Abigail, to the sons Benjamin and John, and to the daughters, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah and Margaret. The value of the estate was about 900 [pounds].”1164
