The Timothy Sprung family resided at Maple Avenue, Johnstown, Fulton Cnty, New York.550

1911:
Timothy Sprung was sentenced to Auburn, Cayuga Cnty, New York prison for two to five years on 24 Oct 1911 for arson in the 3rd degree. He was employed at a Delhi, Delaware Cnty, New York farm at the time and confessed to firing the barn of former Supervisor W. H. McClelland of Delaware, New York during the summer of 1911. Because of good behavior, he was transferred to Great Meadows prison, Washington Cnty, New York, a minimum security prison, where he was assigned to a work detail on a farm.1332 1333,1334

Sprung was described as five feet, nine inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with dark curley hair, light complexion and brown eyes. He had a scar about one inch long over his right eye.1332,1335

1915:
After nearly two years, on Sunday, 7 March 1915, Timothy Sprung was captured in Gloversville and kept in the Gloversville, New York jail to await return to the Great Meadows prison.1336,1333 He had apparently spent at least some of the two years of his escape in Pennsylvania. He returned on a Sunday, when all the bars were closed. He had 22 cents to his name and gave it to an acquaintance to locate some liquor. Instead, the acquaintance bought the liquor, kept it for himself and turned Sprung in to the Gloversville police.1337

1917:
On 17 Dec 1917, Timothy listed 77 South Main Street, Gloversville, Fulton Cnty, New York as his address prior to his marriage to Eva May Hoffman (or Hopkins) on this date.1330
