Notes for Amaziah SPRUNG
1875:
As of 12 June 1875, Cornelius (age 44) and Lucinda (age 43) Sprung own and reside in a frame house in the Town of Caroga, Fulton Cnty, New York with their six children: Amsiah (age 16), Mary (age 13), Jay (age 10), Lilly (age 3), Anderson (age 1) and Pheobe (age 2 mths.). Cornelius is a farmer.412

1889:
On 27 Oct 1889, Amaziah is arrested and jailed for stealing a horse while drunk from John McEwen near Bennett’s Corners, Town of Johnstown, New York. The horse was found in Amaziah’s possession.480 While in jail, he signed a deposition that his treatment, while confined, was good and that he had enough to eat and was comfortable. The deposition was apparently in response to an exposé in the Albany, New York Telegram which resulted from an interview associated with the Fulton County Jail.481

1900:
As of 18 Jun 1900, Amaziah (age 40) and his wife, Mary (age 38), lived in the Town of Johnstown (probably North Bush), Fulton Cnty, New York. They had seven children living at home. Daughters Rosina (age 15) and Edna (age 14) were earning a living sewing gloves. Sons Anderson (age 11) and William (age 10) were attending school. Sons Burton (age 6) and Archibald (age 5) were too young to attend school and daughter Lottie (age 11 months) was an infant. Amaziah was a day laborer and rented his home.209

1905:
In 1905 Amaziah is a truckman living at 30 Grove Street, Gloversville, New York with his son Anderson.477

1913:
At the time of his death on 6 May 1913, Amaziah was living at Hillside Park.482
According to Frank Case, he died from cancer.411
